Clik here to view.In honor of this year’s President’s Day I wanted to share some presidential related entertainment news. No this one isn’t about President Obama, it’s all about former civil war president Abraham Lincoln who happens to be one of the reasons we even celebrate President’s day. Yes, he is known for the Gettysburg Address and known for freeing the slaves (in the rebel territories) but today he is known as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
The first official trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was released earlier in the week (check it out below after the break). It looks awesome. It’s based on a 2010 book of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith (created The Hard Times of RJ Berger on MTV and wrote other notable works). I’ll admit that I have’t read the book, though I’m going to add it to my list (after finishing the Song of Ice and Fire Novels). If you want you can read about the book on Wikipedia. I skimmed the article and the book sounds very interesting and it’s surely a cool topic to take a historical figure such as Lincoln and put him in such a supernatural fictional context. It’s historical fiction on a whole new level.
The movie is set to release on June 22, 2012. It stars Benjamin Walker as Lincoln himself and was written for the screen by Seth. It’s being produced by Tim Burton and the director is the same guy who did Wanted. It has also been shot in 3D so I’m assuming there’ll be some cool action scenes.
The movie wasn’t originally on my list of 2012 movies I wanted to rush and see (click the link to check out a complete 2012 movie guide) but after seeing the trailer I really want to go see it. What do you think? Enjoy the trailer.
